Laser vision correction

Request a consultation

Laser correction reshapes the cornea so that light focuses better on the retina, reducing dependence on glasses or contact lenses. The center uses OptiLASIK, OptiLASEK, CustomQ LASIK / LASEK and StreamLight techniques on an Alcon WaveLight EX-500 excimer laser. The technique is chosen after diagnostics: the doctor considers refraction, corneal thickness and shape, the state of the ocular surface and your lifestyle. At the consultation you can discuss the expected result, limitations and recovery.

When it's recommended

  • Myopia, hyperopia or astigmatism that the chosen technique can correct.
  • Glasses or contact lenses get in the way of work, sport or daily life.
  • You are 18 or older and your refraction is stable.
  • The examination confirms that a safe corneal procedure is possible.

Treatment stages

  1. Diagnostics

Checks of visual acuity, refraction, corneal parameters, the fundus and the ocular surface. The doctor determines indications and possible contraindications.

  2. Individual plan

Choice of technique, an explanation of the expected result, agreement of the cost and preparation advice.

  3. Laser correction

The procedure with the chosen technique on the WaveLight EX-500 laser. Afterwards the doctor checks your eyes and gives recommendations.

  4. Recovery follow-up

Check-ups on the clinic's schedule, prescribed drops and a gradual return to normal activity.

Benefits

  • Technique chosen for your eyes

Both flap-based and surface techniques are available, so the approach is chosen from the examination results.

  • Outpatient procedure

Correction is done under local anesthetic drops and usually does not require a hospital stay.

  • Less need for optical correction

The aim is better vision without glasses and contact lenses. The doctor discusses the expected result and any possible need for further correction before the procedure.

Timeline

According to the clinic, the procedure on both eyes takes roughly 10–20 minutes; time at the center also includes preparation and a check. Recovery speed depends on the technique: after a surface procedure the first days can need more healing time. The travel schedule is planned around the follow-up visits.

What's included in the price

Each package includes a pre-operative calculation of the individual laser program (1,000 UAH). Calculation: price of correction × number of eyes + 1,000 UAH for the individual program; in this offer the program calculation is counted once for the agreed treatment plan, including for both eyes. The base price of correction includes pre-operative tests and one month of post-operative follow-up. Initial comprehensive diagnostics (1,300–1,500 UAH depending on booking terms) is not included. Example: OptiLASIK on both eyes with standard diagnostics, 32,000 + 1,000 + 1,500 = 34,500 UAH.

Additional services

  • How the techniques differ

OptiLASIK: correction with a corneal flap; discuss corneal thickness and shape and the expected recovery. OptiLASIK thin flap: a thinner-flap variant; the permissible extent of treatment is set by measurements. OptiLASEK / LASEK: a surface technique without a LASIK stromal flap; discuss surface healing and time to comfortable work. CustomQ LASIK / LASEK: individual planning of the correction profile. StreamLight: transepithelial surface correction; note the first days and the follow-up. A higher price does not mean a technique suits everyone: the choice rests on the examination and the permissible effect on the cornea.

  • What to know before the procedure

Tell the doctor about previous operations, eye conditions, medicines and contact lenses: lenses can change the shape of the cornea, so the clinic sets how long to stay out of them before measurements. Dryness or inflammation of the ocular surface may need treatment before correction. During healing you may notice fluctuating clarity, light sensitivity, dryness, glare or halos; the doctor prescribes drops and sets when you can return to work, sport and driving. The aim is to reduce dependence on glasses at your current refraction: it does not stop age-related changes, and reading glasses may be needed later. Correction does not remove every possible cause of reduced vision; with keratoconus, active inflammation or other limits, the doctor will propose a different approach.

Common questions

Does the need for glasses go away for good?
The aim of correction is to reduce dependence on glasses at your current refraction. It does not stop age-related changes: reading glasses, for example, may be needed later. Residual refraction and other causes of reduced vision are discussed individually.
Is diagnostics included in the package price?
The table covers the correction and the 1,000 UAH calculation of the individual program. Initial comprehensive diagnostics is added separately. For example, OptiLASIK on both eyes with standard diagnostics: 32,000 + 1,000 + 1,500 = 34,500 UAH.
